Have not used Cubase in 2 years, now, I get this error when trying to start Cubase - it happens even though my dongle is connected. Can anyone help here? I heard something about “in 2025 there’s a change on how to use eLicenser”, but no idea what that is but I suspect that is the reason here.

Yes, most probably. All versions older than Cubase 12 rely on the old licensing system which require either a physical eLicenser or a soft eLicenser.
Which Cubase version do you use?
Cubase SX3. eLicenser usb dongle is plugged in but no joy.

please make sure to download and install the latest eLCC
update the elicense software like already suggest. if that makes no change, sometimes unplugging and reinserting the dongle will do the trick
