Cubase.exe won't open!

cubase.exe won’t open!! (Cubase 14, Win 11).

I clik, but nothing help, please!

Mauri

I would suggest simply reinstalling from the Download assistant.

Ok, i try.
But i try also width cubase 13, but nothing…

Give more info about how you are launching the app, and reveal to the forum your result if you want some help.

Okay. I simply (as always) click on the icon.
Otherwise, I click on the Cubase14.exe file.
Now I have tried to reinstall Cubase 14.0.40 from the “Steinberg Download Assistant”, but nothing has changed.

Obviously, I have turned the PC off and on again several times…

This might not be directly related to Cubase.

Nothing is obvious if you don’t tell us. THis can be caused by various things.

I would do a general onince search for why apps don’t launch on windows 11 and I would check if other apps are having the same problem.

Ok, thanks, I go to search.

So:

  • I uninstalled all Cubase components (13 and 14)
  • I reinstalled all Cubase 14 components for ARM using “Steinberg Download Assistant”
  • I checked/reinstalled “Steinberg built-in ASIO Driver”

Still nothing.

But Windows11 found an error:

It cannot find the path to a folder containing the installation package “Cubase14-Arm64EC.msi”, specifically this one:

C:\Users\[…my name…]\AppData\Local\Temp\td0pzw20.ch5\Cubase 14\Additional Content\Installer\

–> Does anyone know where I can find this installation package?
Maybe this is the right way…

Do you actually have an ARM PC?

Yes:

  • Lenovo ThinkBook 16
  • Processor: Snapdragon(R) X Plus - X1P42100 - Qualcomm(R) Oryon™ CPU (3.24 GHz)
  • RAM 32 GB
  • System 64 bit, ARM

I’ve been able to install Cubase 14 on my Snapdragon-based Surface Laptop 7 and run it without any issues. Not sure what is different here, but I suggest reporting this to Steinberg as an issue and getting actual support from them on it.

Microsoft

The file is located in the setup folder (Cubase 14) under

.... \Additional Content\Installer\Cubase14_Arm64EC.msi

Set this path when asked for the location.

I don’t find the “Cubase14_Arm64EC.msi"

Thanks to all… I report this to Steinberg as an issue for getting actual support from them on it.

Download Cubase_14.0.41_Installer_winarm64ec.zip from here.

Unpack the zip file.

Find the file Cubase14_Arm64EC.msi in the unpacked folder Cubase 14\Additional Content\Installer.

If the setup asks for location of the file, point to the file in that folder.
