Cubase export quality loss

Cubase export loses detail, dynamics and stereo information. I’m testing with a single audio track, 48kHz/24bit. WAV export with the exact same settings. What I hear in Cubase is different from what I exported. I reimport the audio into another track and it’s confirmed: poor export results.
Do you have any ideas?

Hi,

Where do you listen to the result? What speakers, what player?

Hi,
if this was the case there is a very simple way to check if your ears play tricks on you or if it´s true.
Re-import your exported files on an additional track with the exact same positions that were defined during the export process. Flip the phase on one of both tracks and see if you can hear anything. If it´s completly phased out - both tracks are the same.
Now you know for sure if differences are source related or due to different listening environments.

If you’re using the control room make sure you’ve disabled the outputs in the audio connections window and you’re just listening through the control room outputs.

In the end it was related to an external FX. It seems ok doing phase inversion tests, sorry for the noise.

All good, happy you sorted it out. These things can drive you crazy if you don´t find out what it´s about!
