There are some limitations with folder tracks that I noticed after I tried them. Maybe there are ways to solve them already, maybe they are missing features:
Folder track positioning in the mixer:
As far as I can tell, you don’t have a way to put folder tracks in zones and can’t move them with their grouped tracks. That’s unfortunate when I want to collect groups in the right zone.
I can fold the groups, so that the grouped tracks are not visible anymore and you can focus on the groups only but that means constant folding and unfolding (is there a way to fold all with one command?)
Folder tracks and automation:
As you can switch the view from automation to (grouped) events, I hoped that group automation would move with that “group event” but it doesn’t. Instead I have to range select it.
It has the look of events, so why doesn’t it behave like events?
Same with fades. They give me something that looks like an event and everything in that group is routed to that group… so why can’t I add fades on that “group event” (and use the fade menu for adjustments)?
