Cubase "freezes" after inacitivity - changing latency fixes it

I have an issue that I have had since 13: If I leave Cubase alone for a while, it is normally non-responsive, it plays jerkily but with no sound, and appears to be hanging. However, if I change the latency, it’s back to normal and everything is fine. So a small annoyance, but a frequent one.

Does anyone else have this? Is it a recognized bug?
Cubase 14 Pro

Steinberg UR 28M

Could be usb power saving disconnecting the interface.

Make sure usb selective suspend disabled and all usb hubs in device manager have the “turn off this device to save power” option disabled.

The device has external power supply and is fully operational, so no, I don’t think it is that.

It may not be it…but having an external powered device has no bearing on the usb ports of your computer shutting down so I wouldn’t completely discount based on that misunderstanding.
