Cubase freezing when closing project

Recently I’ve been having an issue where Cubase freezes when I try to close a project. Because of this, I have to Force Quit and restart Cubase whenever I want to switch projects. To make matters worse, sometimes Cubase freezes on restart and I’m unable to Force Quit the app. I try to restart my computer, but because Cubase won’t close, I can’t restart. I end up having to do a forced shutdown of my computer.

Does anyone have suggestions for what the problem may be and/or how to fix it?

These issues are typically related to a VST. So have you installed or used a new VST recently? Are all VSTs up to date?

I have a feeling that might be it. Now I just have to figure out which one is causing the problem
