Cubase FX track cc controls

I have Amplitube 5 on an fx track, with cc controls mapped to parameters such as stompbox on/off. My problem is that when the instrument track and fx track are both highlighted for playing, the fx track cc controls are not accessible (or visible in the inspector).

Even if the fx track is selected last, the cc controls stick with the instrument track.
Is there a solution for this?

Try creating a MIDI Track and route the output to AmpliTube.

Thanks for the suggestion, I tried it, but the MIDI Track controls the FX track, until I enable the instrument track, then the QC defaults to the instrument again.
