Cubase installation / download issue on AORUS 17X AZG (possible network issue?)

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble installing Cubase on my laptop.

No matter how many times I try, the installation process fails or doesn’t complete properly through Steinberg Download Assistant.

I was eventually able to install it using a direct download, but the normal installation method still does not work.

Here are my system specs:

  • Laptop: AORUS 17X AZG
  • RAM: 64GB
  • SSD: 7.28TB
  • OS: Windows 11

Things I’ve tried:

  • Reinstalling Steinberg Download Assistant
  • Checking internet connection
  • Using different network (including hotspot)
  • Disabling firewall temporarily

Still no luck.

Is this a known issue?
Could this be related to network restrictions, ISP (SK Broadband), or Steinberg server connection?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

What is the error message you get?

Do you have the latest release of the Download Assistant?

Hi, thanks for your reply!

I’m attaching a screenshot of the error message.

I’m using the latest version of the Steinberg Download Assistant.

Let me know if you need any additional information!

This looks like the installer is defect.

You could try to complete deinstall the Download Assistant and make sure you also have deleted all temporary data in your %APPDATA% directory for it.

Then download a new copy from the Steinberg Website and install it again.

Thanks for your suggestion!

However, I’ve already formatted my system and performed a completely fresh installation, so there shouldn’t be any leftover data in the %APPDATA% directory.

The installation itself seems to complete normally, but the application still doesn’t launch at all.

Could this be related to a runtime dependency or system component?

Let me know if there’s anything specific I should check.

I just saw that there is a space in the name of the installer package (installer_win 1…)

Your system language seems to be Chinese (right ?), so make sure there is not a single space in the path and file name and try again

Thanks for your suggestion!

I already tried removing any spaces from the file name and path, and even ran the installer from a simple directory like C:\ using sda.exe, but the issue still persists.

Also, I have already formatted my system and performed a completely clean installation, so there shouldn’t be any leftover data or path-related issues.

The installer launches, but fails during initialization, and the application itself does not open at all.

Sometimes I get an error saying:
“Installer initialization failed. The installer will now exit.”

Other times, the installer window opens but stays completely blank and does nothing.

At this point, I’m not sure if this is related to the installer itself or a deeper system/runtime issue.

Any further ideas would be appreciated.

P.S. My system language is Korean, not Chinese.

I’m sorry, but I can’t help here with any more suggestions. I guess you need to contact Steinberg Support.

No worries at all, and thank you so much for taking the time to help me — I really appreciate it!

I’ve just contacted Steinberg support here in Korea as well.

Thanks again for your help, and I’ll keep you updated on how this gets resolved!
