When I start Cubase, I keep getting the message “Scanning for VST3 plug-ins…”.
It turns out that the cause was the Waves plug-in.
I found that “WaveShell1-VST3” located in “C:\Program Files\Common Files\vst3” was stuck while loading.
It starts when I move WaveShell from vst3.
Also, if you start Cubase in administrator mode, the Waves plug-in loads correctly, but there are some limitations, such as not being able to drag and drop files from Windows to Cubase.
How can I force Cubase to load Waves plugins using VST3 plugin scanning by booting normally instead of in administrator mode?
Also, the old “WaveShell1-VST3” has been removed and only the latest version of the dll is present.
Make sure, you have the latest Waves plug-ins version installed. Also make sure, you have the latest iLok and the PACE software installed (if you are using it for the Waves).
If it doesn’t help, get in contact with Waves, please.
