Cubase & loopMIDI problem

I am trying to use a Continuum fingerboard with Cubase, which requires the use of loopMIDI or a similar program to make a virtual MIDI connection between the Continuum Editor software and Cubase. I tried loopMIDI, which has a user adjustable threshold for feedback detection. It appears to be ok at the Continuum end, the data rate window indicates data arriving at loopMIDI, and in Cubase, loopMIDI appears in the list and can be selected as the MIDI source for the instrument, but no data seems to get into Cubase.

I tried an older version of loopMIDI, loopBE1, and found that I am able to make the connection ok in the Continuum editor as well as into Cubase and it plays ok, but loopBE1 interprets the large amount of data coming from the Continuum as a feedback loop and shuts down. Otherwise it works ok.

I am using Cubase 8.0.5 Build 418 (64 bit) on a Windows 10 PC. Any help is appreciated!!!
