Cubase losing map when using Import Tracks from Project

I’ve been trying to use the new Import Tracks from Project feature to bring in certain tracks from other projects and I notice that if fails to import the expression map assigned to the track, despite having the Channel and Inspector Settings option enabled.

Please fix this!

For now, I guess my workaround is to create a VST Preset of the track and then load that inside a new project. But… seems to me that anything loaded in the Inspector should “load” when we enable that option during import.

Yes, this is a bug introduced in Cubase 10.5, together with the ability to import folders, that I didn’t have time to report yet.
But note that this only happens when the track you are importing is located inside a folder.
When the track is at the project root level the expression maps are imported correctly.

Here are the steps for scenario 1:
1 - Create a new empty project
2 - Create a new instrument track
3 - Create an expression map for that track and assign
4 - Save and close the project
5 - Create another new empty project
6 - Now “Import Tracks from Project”
RESULT: The track is imported correctly with the expression map.

Here are the steps for scenario 2:
1 - Create a new empty project
2 - Create a folder track
3 - Create a new instrument track inside that folder
4 - Create an expression map for that track and assign
5 - Save and close the project
6 - Create another new empty project
7 - Now “Import Tracks from Project”
RESULT: The track is imported incomplete without the expression map.

So the workaround, for now, is to not place tracks with expression maps inside folders.

I Hope Steinberg takes notice and fixes this soon.

Stay safe.

Wow, good detective work! Thanks for providing another workaround!
As you said though, hopefully Steinberg fixes this in the next maintenance release of C11.
