When editing MIDI-controllers. Hold-pedal etc.. the edit list now only shows MIDI CC Helper - and a the CC number. Not the standard controlname that the CC was pointing at. Is this a bug?? (If not - it’s clearly a design fault).

Thanks… well here is how it looks at this track. Oddly enough the list shows correctly on other tracks in the same piece. And - out of curiosity I also loaded the piece in Cubase 14 - which also showed the track correct. But on my Cubase 15 Pro it is looking like this:
It is playing Arturias Piano V (actually just a single note melody that is later to be sung… just for helping me when arranging for the rest of the band)
I think I found the culprit. Somehow (I have no idea how) the Arturia plug take some control of the track. I swapped the output to a clean MIDI-out… and the track turned up correct again. I have no idea why this happens - surely it is not helpful. So then I recon the proper question is - how to disable this erratic behaviour.
Oh??? A VSTi can actually tell Cubase the name of a CC? I did not know that. That’s really cool.
Could be - if things like “hold pedal” on a piano wasn’t changed to something meaningless. I have browsed around in the plug, and Cubase settings without finding anything to stop it. I do however recon that if this behaviour was “by design” it would be possible to control by the user.
I see this happening too, but only with Arturia VSTis.
Thanks. Then I know I am not alone. I’ll have a look at the Arturia forum - there’s got to be more Cubase-users over there.
What I know by now is this: 1. It only happens with Arturia plugins. 2. It does not affect Cubase 14 Pro. 3. It affects Cubase 15 Pro.
So it’s hard to tell which of the brands who is responsible for the blunder. My bet is Steinberg, but it is not for sure.
Normally Arturias controls take over from CC16… or - in general - leave the standards alone. I checked the Piano V and Pigments.
I have been in contact with Arturia support and have sent them screenshots of a MIDI-track with and without being routed to an Arturia plugin. They will look into it, and thinks it’s an error on Steinbergs side. One thing tho… I cannot remember if this error turned up at the latest Cubase 15 update or not… anyone!?
