Hello, the YamahaSynth forum seems to be down so I’m going to try here. Currently, I have an issue with my USB driver for my MOXF8 connection with Cubase Artist 14 and have resorted to MIDI cables to connect the two. My question is, can I connect the MOXF Editor VST to Cubase via the “old school” MIDI cables? All the reference material I have looked at only illustrates USB connections. Thank you for any help with this. Dave
The VST editor requires the USB connection.
When you’re not using the MOXF8 as your audio interface, the editor might be able to use the USB for just MIDI–but then you have to connect the audio-out from your MOXF8 to a stereo input on your active audio interface, and then configure the VSTi on the MOX to use those inputs as return ports.

I’ve connected my MOXF8 to a Behringer USB IV for audio recording and am trying to use the MOXF Editor VST via the 5-pin MIDI cables to the Behringer USB IV 5-pin MIDI connections. When starting the MOXF Editor VST I’m getting an “Open Port” message. I can trigger the MOXF Editor VST no problem with the MOXF8 but nothing else doesn’t work.
