Cubase/MR816...can't see 'hardware'/no headphone signal

Hi all. I’m running Cubase 5.5.3 with an up-to-date MR816 in Lion (yeah, that could be my issue right there, hopefully not).

I haven’t used Cubase in a while, so I’m not entirely sure when this problem started or what could have caused it. I used to use it all the time on a Windows 7 PC, then occasionally on a MacBook Pro (which worked fine), and haven’t really touched it since getting a new iMac. The iMac came with Snow Leopard (brought over from the MBP) and recently upgraded to Lion.

Now, I have been through every menu and setting I can think of both in Cubase and in the Steinberg Control Panel and MR Editor. I can get headphones working in the OS but in Cubase, they just don’t pass signal. In that first screenshot, there should be an entry called ‘hardware’ on the list that I would be able to control the MR816 with, but it’s just not there.

I can record and hear from my mains just fine. Everything else is working. I just can’t get anything to pass into the headphones (vital to a recording session of course) and I have a feeling I’d be able to fix this if only the ‘hardware’ thing would show up. Any ideas? I have a recording session coming up here in a couple of weeks and I will have to cancel if I can’t get this working. :frowning:
