Cubase/Nuendo 15 release?

That’ll be to generate a new AI model. For simple replacement it’ll be like VoiceAI -play in your source & it’ll calculate the AI voice and you’re done. The time taken depends on how long your source is. I usually do replacement line by line (10-15 sec processing) or at the most verse by verse (maybe 1-2 mins) I never do the full thing all in one go. VoiceAI gets a bit weird when you get too high or low in its register so you have to be careful. I don’t mind re-doing 10-15 secs of a song but I’d hate to have to re-do a 5 min song just for the odd word here and there.

Well OmniVocal should be good enough to do that. You should only need ReSing/VoiceAI if you’re putting the vocals in a mix.

So is Tilly Norwood

Generrtive AI is, in the right hands, a great tool for demonstration and I am going to use it.

Some of my compositions are over 30 years old, and it was Artificial Intelligence that helped me to finish them, as both musical and literary works.

Now the task, for me is to produce them as genuine musical pieces and songs, again introducing AI into the workflow, so that visuals can be created, that will more than likely require real actors in future, so I am not afraid of technology at all and I take it all in my stride.

Steinberg of course will be at the centre of what I do, at least for the audio component.

Hi,

I record the outputs of VSTi’s, using a MOTU 8A, which has hardware-based effects, to 24bit waveform audio files @ 44.1KHz.

I then take these stems and multitrack files and mix them using UAD but if ReSing, allows me to replace the often awkward vocals that are generated by Emvoice, then I wlil sign up immediately but if it is just a model creation software, then I don’t need it just to continue composing music, especially now that it is being embedded in Cubase (and hopefully Nuendo as well) or else if I can buy the plug-in’ some day I may just do that too.

Yeah, well you can currently input a photograph taken of you at age 12 and turn it into a 5-second video of you at 12…..moving around to different angles, input speech, introduce other moving things/people etc. Astronomical cost, but ten years from now, you can easily put your 12-year old self into your own fully scripted (autoscripted) “movie”….with you and Frank Sinatra singing your Ai-assisted completed 30yr old songs…..in a 2 hour movie. No biggie.

I will say though…..we ALL thought our Linndrums were heaven when we all bought them and stuck them on every fareaking session.

Some things that you THINK are good ideas… come back to bite you later…..very hard.

…but if it is just a model creation software, then I don’t need it just to continue composing music,

ReSing replaces whatever you put into it as well as being able to create a brand new AI model - that’s where it goes one-up on VoiceAI. Personally I don’t need new AI models (at this time), but I do need something with a wider range (or aguably better detection) than VoiceAI which is why I’m interested in ReSing. Apart from the range issue, I’m more than happy with the results VoiceAI gives me (re-recording the output of Synth V).

OmniVocal doesn’t do either of those things - at face value it’s currently a trimmed down version of Synth V in essence but operates internally - no ARA; which for me is the most attractive thing about it. The voice choice & style options are bare bones to say the least! It’s advertised as beta though so that will only improve.

I can’t see why Steinberg won’t put OmniVoice into Nuendo, for sound design uses alone it’d be worth having - but to get back onto the OP’s topic (sorry!) - having access to Cubase from our Nuendo license would be great - even if it’s only until the Nuendo update drops. No need for a Nuendo .5 release - just make sure that when 15 does drop it actually works and doesn’t give us issues. 12 was the last version I didn’t have any real issues from day 1. 13 & 14 have been a lot more buggy and unstable here.

ReSing, isn’t available until the 11th of this month so I will be trying out the SonarWorks offering in the mean time.

Thank you for that information.

That’s my quandary as well. I have 4 Nuendo licensees all still on 13. Do I upgrade to 14 now or wait. Don’t want to pay the big upgrade $$$ twice.

I say this for years now and i 200% love Steinberg, But where Nuendo is concerned. You pay more, you wait more for Nuendo, while Cubase users pay less and dont wait for a good proportion of the feature update set. Not good for branding. I know the logic behind it, no need to explain but really - Once time in the last 5 years you had closer release between between Cubase and Nuendo, and it should always be like that.

What new features are in C15, that would in all likelihood make it to N15, is to my way of thinking, the question.

Past history suggests that the release of Nuendo 15 is imminent and supposedly, if you purchase a Nuendo 14 license right now, but not activate until after Nuendo 15 arrives, you will be able to start using the latest version which at that time, would be the latter.

Since for a long time, updates and upgrades have been very consistent, so the approach would appear sound.

So you want Cubase users to wait for Nuendo even though the Cubase version might be ready sooner?

How do our lives as Nuendo users improve by making Cubase users wait for no good reason?

Install the trial for 14 and keep 13 installed and see if you like it.

Not going to get into a debate with you, bottom line; Nuendo users pay more, in a normal world that usually means 1st, not 2nd…

It is a bit petty to have others wait only so you can feel better.

Nothing to do with feeling better.

Ok, then again; what difference does it make?

If it takes longer to finish Cubase+extra stuff = Nuendo, why have Cubase users wait?

In that case, why would you want to turn it upside down? If it’s not vanity you’d have to come up with good reasons why Steinberg should not use the time after Cubase’s release to make sure Nuendo can profit from possible bug fixes in Cubase. And of course, get additional Nuendo features up and running.

However, waiting for a release for so long can put a users patience to the test, I get that part  .

I did that but need to wait, until i have all my scores correct, in order to use the Dorico based version.
