Cubase has been overriding my mixer configurations and I was wondering why some other instruments show up, anyone with this issue on Windows?
This happens when working on project and adding new tracks to different groups folders. It overrides selected mixer group. Fix this guys!
Not exactly. It’s more that Cubase adds newly created tracks to each and every Visibility Configuration. Every time you add a track or channel, you would have to Update each configuration that should not include that channel.
This has been talked about before in the forums. Here’s one thread. There might be more.
My personal opinion is that newly created channels should NOT be included in any Visibility Configuration unless the new channel is in a Folder Track. Then it should follow the Folder Track’s Visibility. Other users might see it differently.
This issue is one of the most mind boggling oversights in the program. For my workflows, it makes visibility configurations far more trouble to use then they’re worth. I pretend the feature isn’t there. Many of us have been asking for the ability to lock our visibility configurations feature (honestly, its more like a fix) for years. I’m REALLY hoping the Mixer view updates mentioned in the leaked 13 specs includes it.
What about just added dialog when creating any new track that would list the cretated configurations, and you check the configurations you want included? (default set to none checked so you get what you get now.)
Thats how I thought this would behave. I have been setting up a template and most of it is now usless after seeing all those behavior bugs popping up. I honestly thought FL Studio is buggy but I could forgive that for free updates. But Cubase…is releaseing features in a state that do not work after you set it up. I mean there is a lot of thing that do not follow common sense! I don’t know how is this advanced music production system?
Hans Zimmer is well know Cubase user, does he come here to complain about bugs? The productions he makes and the amount of track has in his productions, does he constantly go back and forth to update configurations? lol. Hats of to him and to anybody with large productions for being able to finish their productions without continiusly sending bug reports to Steinberg!
I didn’t mention that but there is specific function to “update configuration” that means Cubase should not save new tracks to existing configuration (unles it is in the same folder as saved configuration. This is 100% a bug and I am shocked this has not been fixed yet since the post was made in 2022!
Zimmer probably has a team of 5 people dedicated only to updating his visibility configurations.
