Cubase possibly being interfered with by other apps?

Got a 2014 MacBook Pro, 2013 Trashcan and 2023 MacStudio. The only one these that seems to be working correctly is the 2014 MacBook Pro. If a test project with 2 or 3 Kontakt VST’s is created in Cubase 12 or 13 on the Macbook all the Kontakt VSTs will sound within the Kontakt Rack instances or from external keyboard, but if this same test project it tried on the trashcan or macstudio, no sound at all-most of the time. All three will playback Cubase audio only projects without problem. On some occasions the macstudio or trashcan will play one of the VSTs, but playing a different one in the project kills the sound from the 1st VST. So am beginning to consider that some other app maybe interfering and causing this sound problem. Has anyone out there experience this kind of problem?

Hi,

Would the Buffer Size increasing solve the issue?

Buffer size doesn’t seem to make a difference. Don’t have a problem with odd things playing stuff. It’s just the the VST’s don’t sound. The MIDI is clearly working as the Mixer shows the VST being played, but no sound. Considering that I created the test project on a 16g Macbook and that there’s no sound on a 128g trashcan…I’m suspicious of other things…
