The Cubase Pro 10.0.10 Timeline cursor disappears when the transport is stopped. There is only a small 1/2 line in timecode bar above the arrange window. When I play the transport, the timeline is shown but when stopped there is no timeline. I tried changing the line thickness to no avail. For now I am back to 9.5 for music.
I upgraded from 9.5 → 10.0 → 10.0.10 on Windows 10 Pro X64.
I will try it on my new mac trashcan soon.
Hi there. I had exactly the same problem. Try turning off the new video edit mode playhead function… when this is enabled the playhead does indeed disappear. 
That was it! Timeline cursor is now visible when transport is stopped.
Bit confusing and not explained in the new features video glad I could help u with that - totally confused me and I thought my system was having issues with 10 too!
I think this behaviour makes no sense and hopefully it is a bug they will fix.
No Bug. This is how the Edit mode works.
