Cubase Pro 10.5 login

back after some years , Please how do i log in to my old cubase Pro 10.5 on my USB dongle , and use it , with my original email and pass word , it loads n works for some time , and shuts down .. i see it’s logged in with my new email and pass word.. and how do i register it to my the new system , so i dont require the USB dongle any more ?? transfering all my software to the new systemm absolute 4 n all.. thanks

Email and password are not directly connected to the elicenser now the server is down so not sure what you are asking with logging in?

You will not be able to register 10.5 to the new licensing system, you can continue to use it with the dongle as before. Make sure elicenser control centre is up to date.

If you log into your MySteinberg account and make sure the dongle is registered there then should you choose to buy an upgrade to C15 it will work with the new licensing.

Same applies to Absolute 4, it will not work with the new licensing system, you have to run it off the dongle. Only Absolute 6 will work with the new licansing if you choose to upgrade.

Thanks for the reply , Problem is , Running it from the USB dongle , it gives some mesages some Vsti are not registered on the dongle , load an instrument , and after some time cubase crashes. My Usb dongle is fine ..

any one in this forum is selling an lower upgrade to Cubase 10.56 to 11 or some thing within my reach and an upgrade to Absolute 4.. would appreciate that , would Steinberg accept this route ?? n then i rid my self of the dongle .. hold i have some more software there.. Halion 4.x n halion sonic 1.x , add this in ?? n get me on my track..

Hi,
you can also try knobcloud as a marketplace.
During the summer sales, a lot of updates are usually off around 40% - so, there’s another option.

You need at minimum Cubase 12 to get the new licensing system.

Note that there isn’t really any such thing as an upgrade to earlier versions…..an unused code bought at any point in the past will qualify for the latest version when it is redeemed. So you may not see any offers of particularly cheap upgrades because of that.

If you want to try to solve the issue with Cubase crashing post a new thread with details of exactly what errors you’re getting and some information about your system. A plugin not being licensed should not lead to a crash….maybe your dongle is losing connection due to USB power saving or something??

Thanks

Hi,
don’t forget to familiarize yourself with resale rules in case you go for a used version:

Better safe than sorry
