Cubase Pro 11 and “ CPU overload / Audio drop out detected "

Hello good,

I have Cubase Pro 11 and a computer with Windows 10 Home 64-bit version 20H2 Intel Core i9-10940X at 3.30 Ghz, 64 GB of Ram and for a few days, whether I am playing or recording, I get the warning of “ CPU overload / Audio drop out detected "

The Cubase projects I am currently working with are only 15 audio tracks, with no PlugIn enabled.

I have tried disabling ASIO Guard, but to no avail.

The Audio Performance monitor is not even one-fifth.

I have tested it with a script enabled and disabled

What I can do?

I get much the same problem, sometimes with very small projects (just a few audio tracks). I’m using Elements 1o.5 on an i5 Sony laptop with 8Gb memory. It doesn’t happen often, there is no discernible pattern, although Cubase usually grinds to a halt due to audio dropout while I am recording a track.

As for a fix, I always save my work as another project (not that this seems to matter) and unload everything I can which might be using resources e.g., freeze all audio tracks, etc. I’d like to tell you that this makes a difference (and perhaps it does) but, as I always close my projects down and reload, the problem disappears… For a few days… Maybe weeks… Very strange. Something is clogging up the audio process but I have no idea what. Especially as the only software on my laptop is Cubase and a limited number of lightweight VSTs.

Then again, there’s always those infernal Win 1o updates… (?)
