Cubase pro 11 crashing after latest update

i waited quite long to update from 11.0.40 to the 11.0.41 but unfortunately it might have been a mistake…

the program crashes very often - most likely right after closing a project, quite often when opening a project. usually it wont crash during working on an open project.

i can not figure out anything with the crash dumps, maybe someone can see whats going on there…?

One crash is in Opengl.dll, and the other is in Waves.

I used WinDbg to see what it says- you can install it. I find it can help troubleshoot once in a while.

thanks, yeah i got dozens of dumps from only today…

might try the WinDbg, though not sure what to do at the end.

Well, it will only give you the name of the offending module, and then only sometimes.

I guess you should make sure everything is updated OS and VST plugin -wise.

Unfortunately the crashes are very generic. They don’t point to anything specific.

But I reported it to Steinberg. Thank you.

Hi @Tatum,

These are all OpenGL crashes due to an older Waves version (v10 in this case, only supported in Cubase 9 through 10). Please, update your Waves plug-ins.

ok, i will look in to that. weird that the crashing only started when updating from cubase 11.0.40 to 11.0.41

also, i could not get the waves V13 (latest versions) to work in cubase 11 at all, they went blacklisted automatically
