Cubase Pro 12 is currently installed on my computer and I have used it, but I cannot find the original Cubase Pro 12 purchase/order information and the license is not showing correctly in my MySteinberg account.
I am located in Israel. I contacted the local Steinberg distributor, Halilit, but unfortunately I have not received a response.
I also opened FastSpring support case #1863817, but I have not received a solution.
I would like to upgrade my existing Cubase Pro 12 license to Cubase Pro 15 rather than purchase a new full license.
Could someone from Steinberg please advise me how I can recover/verify my Cubase Pro 12 license or purchase information and become eligible for the Cubase Pro 15 upgrade?
open the Steinberg Activation Manager and observe the email address with which it is logged in and verify it’s the same email you are using to log into the online web account
That information doesn’t help you, because the Download Access Code you’ve got is a one time code and not usable anymore.
This usually points to a wrong email address. If your Cubase 12 license is already installed on one machine and activated, you need to take that account to check your licensing status.
Hi Steve,
Thank you for your reply.
Cubase Pro 12 is not currently installed on my computer. That is actually the problem.
I purchased Cubase Pro 12 previously, but I cannot find the purchase/order information or the Cubase Pro 12 license in my MySteinberg account.
I would like to recover or verify my previous Cubase Pro 12 purchase so that I can buy the upgrade from Cubase Pro 12 to Cubase Pro 15, rather than purchasing a new full license.
Could you please advise how I can locate or recover my Cubase Pro 12 license/purchase?
Sorry for the confusion. I made a mistake in my original post.
Cubase Pro 12 is NOT installed on my computer now.
I purchased Cubase Pro 12 in the past, but I can no longer find the license or purchase information in my MySteinberg account. Therefore, simply downloading Cubase 12 does not solve my problem.
My goal is to verify/recover my previous Cubase Pro 12 license so that I can purchase the Cubase Pro 15 Upgrade, instead of paying for a new full license.
How can I recover or verify my old Cubase Pro 12 license?
If you ever used Cubase 12, its license is in your Steinberg account.
Whether you have more than one account we couldn’t know – but that’s likely the problem. Maybe look through your old emails to find years old Steinberg emails.
You are certainly not obliged to follow my suggestions, but it might be a good idea to do so since it hurts nothing. If your not a native English speaker and are using a translator to post here, please do make sure you have translated and read everything we have taken the time to say to you.
Otherwise the only thing to do is deal with support from Halilit
Hi Steve,
I found my original purchase confirmation.
I purchased Cubase Pro 12 Update on June 16, 2022 for €199. The order confirmation is under the same email address that I currently use for my Steinberg account. I also have the original Order Number and Download Access Code.
However, Cubase Pro 12 is not showing in my current MySteinberg account.
So I now have proof of purchase. What should I do to restore this Cubase Pro 12 license to my account so that I can purchase the Cubase Pro 15 upgrade?
Thank you.
It seems that you purchased an update from an e-Licenser based Cubase version. Did you ever actually enter the Download Access Code for the update?
Which version IS showing in your Steinberg account? Do you have a version of Cubase registered at Steinberg that qualifies you for this update? Is your USB-eLicenser registered in your Steinberg account that contains this license?
Does your USB-eLicenser show up in the eLCC app? What license is displayed? Can you post a screenshot? (please blur your personal info )
Thank you. I checked my USB-eLicenser.
It shows: “Cubase Pro 11 (Upgraded to Cubase with Steinberg Licensing)”
I also have my original purchase confirmation for the Cubase Pro 12 Update, purchased on June 16, 2022 for €199, including the original Download Access Code.
So it appears that my Cubase Pro 11 license was upgraded to Steinberg Licensing when I purchased the Cubase Pro 12 Update.
However, Cubase Pro 12 is not showing in my current MySteinberg account.
What should I do now to recover the Cubase Pro 12 license in Steinberg Licensing? Is it possible that the Download Access Code was purchased but never redeemed
Now start the Download Assistant, make sure you are logged in with the same email address that you’ve used for the eLicenser, and enter the Download Access Code.
There is a button in the upper left corner, click there and this will open the dialog box where you put the code.
After this your license is registered in your account. You find a support document here.
Hello Juergen,
Thank you for your reply.
The problem is that I do not have a Download Access Code.
I have a USB-eLicenser with my valid Cubase Pro 10.5 license, and Cubase 10.5 works with this USB key.
Could you please tell me how I can register/migrate this license to my Steinberg account if I don’t have a Download Access Code?
If necessary, I can provide screenshots of my USB-eLicenser and the license information.
Thank you for your help.
When you click +Redeem Code in the Download Assistant and enter the Download Access Code that’s in your original purchase confirmation, do you get an error-message?
found my original Download Access Code for the Cubase Pro 12 update.
I tried to redeem it in Steinberg Download Assistant, but I received the following error:
“This Download Access Code is already in use by another user.”
I am the original purchaser of this Cubase Pro 12 update. I also have the original purchase confirmation and order number.
It appears that my Cubase Pro 12 license may have been activated under another MySteinberg account.
Could Steinberg Support please help me identify/recover the account associated with this Cubase Pro 12 license and restore access to my license?
I would like to use this existing license to upgrade to the current Cubase Pro version rather than purchase a new full license.
Thank you very much.
Yes, I can read the replies. English is not my native language, so I use a translator.
I followed the instructions and found my original Download Access Code. When I entered it in Steinberg Download Assistant, I received the message: “This Download Access Code is already in use by another user.”
This is the problem I am trying to solve. I am the original purchaser of the Cubase Pro 12 update.
I have now checked Steinberg Activation Manager as you suggested.
I am signed in with dr.michael63@gmail.com, which is the same email address I use for my MySteinberg account.
However, Activation Manager only shows Cubase Pro 12 – Trial expired. It does not show my purchased Cubase Pro 12 license.
I have attached a screenshot of the Activation Manager.
What should I do next to recover my purchased Cubase Pro 12 license?
We are Cubase users, not support staff. In Israel, support is provided by the company you mentioned.
If the download code shows as used, it would have had to have been you that used it, or I suppose someone else who had access to that email you presented.
There might be other ways to contact them, such as Whatsapp. You should go to their website and check.
