Cubase Pro 13.0.21 and WaveLab Pro 12.0.10 Issue

I have reported the following, Cubase - WaveLab (as ARA2 plugin) problem in the WaveLab section, but I would like to leave it here, too:

Hello Wavelab team, I’m not sure where the problem lays down, in WaveLab Pro 12 Trial, or Cubase Pro 13 itself, but after some time Cubase freezes / hangs… But the Process Explorer shows that Cubase is working fine. [image] I took a Midi Dump of the process in order to be checked by you (The WeTransfer link will expire in 14 days). The only way to close Cubase is to kill the process. Best regards, Thurisaz

The DMP file comes from Cubase, so I reported this to Cubase team in Steinberg. Thank you.

I think I’ve been able to find where the problem is…
It’s all about the Auto Saving when WaveLab was actively engaged in the processing, even just for few Gain edits.

1. Cubase is creating enormously big backup file (the same amount as the audio file) 1.47GB.

• I don’t know why such a big backup file is needed, while the project file is few hundred KB?!

2. It takes around 50 minutes for the backup file to be created… The audio file length is about 01:08h. Unexpectedly long time for creation of a backup… That’s why I was thinking it hangs.

• Тhe similar situation about the Manual Saving (Ctrl+S).

Definitely something should be improved here…

Thank you very much! This will definitely help to reproduce the bug in Steinberg and be able to fix it as soon as possible.
