What is the best way to transfer chords from Cubase’s chord track to Dorico? I believe that information can’t be transferred with midi. I haven’t been able to test the Music xml export from Cubase yet. Is chord track information included in it? I read somewhere that in Dorico there are some limitations in editing of this chord information. Is it true?
Open the Score Editor in Cubase 14. This should show you a score including the chords from the chord track. Then export a Dorico Project file directly from File/Export.
Thank you Stefan. I was able to import this Cubase XML to the end of my Dorico project (template). I removed all the bars before the XML score but I couldn’t move XML Score to the first page of my Template. Perhaps I should adjust template somehow or do something else? What kind of template should I have to import XML nicely to Dorico also to first page. I’m still novice with Dorico.
If you export a Dorico Project file in Cubase (not MusicXML), then you can just open that directly in Dorico.
Ok, now I understand. Seems to work fine. Can I somehow use Dorico templates when opening Dorico-project made in Cubase? Or should I first adjust score in Cubase’s score editor? I’m trying to minimize routine work.
In Cubase I made midi notes from Chord track. Exported midi from Cubase and imported it to my Dorico template. From these midi notes I generated Chords in Dorico. Then I removed this “Chord Player”. This method seems to work quite well. Now I have to figure out how to make Cubase Marker Track texts visible in Dorico.
