Cubase Pro 14 - create folder track crashes app

Hi,

I’m having a bit of a problem with Cubase Pro 14.0.10 b144

I wanted to make some folder tracks for importing data from another project, but on creation, the folder track would either disappear, then after a couple more tries of that, it crashed the application.

Surprisingly, there doesn’t appear to be a crashdump for this.

Based on https:// forums. steinberg. net /t/ collapse-all-visible-folders-crashing-cubase/916237/9 (<- it won’t let me add links) I then tried opening the same project in Cubase 13. (13.0.51)

Then I started getting some weird behaviours (in C13). For example if I made copies of a part (control-k), a few seconds later those copies would disappear and I’d have to retry the action. and then save the project in case it disappeared again…
Same with changing colours.
Has this corrupted my project file?

Based on the link above, the disappearing folders sounds like a regression?

What are the options to troubleshoot this?

This on Windows 10.

Thanks,
Sean

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Please, attach the DMP file.

Win: %userprofile%/Documents/Steinberg/Crash Dumps

There wasn’t actually a .dmp file for the period it was crashing (on the 22nd).
On the 23rd, every time I started the app, I was getting 0-byte freeze-dump files.
This I tracked down to some plugins trying to contact ilok cloud and failing, which appeared to be because the ilok license manager had a proxy set (which I may have done a while ago when I was having different problems with that).
Since I removed that setting, everything seems to have recovered, and I’m back to being able to use Cubase 14 without issues.
Now I can get back to the music making!
Thanks,
Sean
