I really like the new score editor.
But, I am missing a general setting to tell the score editor to hide muted notes.
Often I use a chord but mute 2 of the notes because the instrument can only only play one of them. I keep the muted notes to remind me what chord I am playing and give me the option to change the note this instrument is playing, if I notice that another one would harmonize better with another instrument.
I understand that basically you want this to be an editor, if muted notes are hidden, you can no longer unmute them in that editor.
That is why this should be a simple easy to find button in the tool bar to hide/unhide muted notes.
I am surprised that nobody commented on this request. I am the only one that needs muted notes to not show in the score editor? For me this is a no-go.
How do you solve this in your workflow?
We’re know that users have various use cases that require the ability to hide notes in a score, and we’re looking to add that in a future update.
No you are not alone! I work like that too, and I’m sure many do. It’s a way to try different instrumentation as well. The notes could at least be grayed out, but I would preferer the notes to not be visible. Because they are not really there, the way I see it. If I export the audio those notes are note played, so why should they be in the score if you export the score? Does not make any sense to me to be honest.
Hi,
Just to add: I also need to hide notes.
But I would prefer a more general hiding solution that allows you to hide all objects (staves, notes, rests, metronome, etc.) in a score.
+1 for hiding notes in the score editor. Is there really no way to do this?
+1
and also a request for hiding whole systems - without this function, how am I supposed to set up repeats?
and another request for hiding rests!
Rests are no longer selectable at all, cannot be moved, cannot be hidden. Especially useful when working with two or more voices.
