Cubase Pro 14 vs 13

Hi All,
I’m wondering why CB Pro 14 isn’t seeing a few VST instruments that Pro 13 sees. I’m pretty sure it’s not a bit problem if 13 is seeing them. On one instrument, it shows on a pop up page that CB can’t find it as CB is loading. That instrument shows up in the plugin control page and I can see it in ‘instruments’ but it’s not loading into the arrange page. I have to load all the tracks manually with that instrument.

Another effects plugin is nowhere to be found in 14 so I had to go back to 13 to load it. 14 then tells me in that pop-up page when CB is loading that the effect is missing. Any thoughts?
Thanks.

You will increase the likelihood of getting useful responses in this thread, if you go beyond generalities, and divulge more details.

Like what specific plugins - VST2 vs VST3, what OS and version you’re using at the very minimum.

Without any more info my first very wild guess at one potential avenue of investigation is VST2 vs VST3 differences.

But I’m not enthusiastic enough to write a lengthy post covering all of the different potential scenarios on MacOS Intel vs MacOS Apple Silicon vs Windows.

Yes, you’re right as I assumed the proper info.
I’m on an intel PC with Windows 10 Pro, version 22H2. All but one plugin are VST3.

And do they have names?

Specifics are useful, generalities generally aren’t.

While not always possible, aim to provide enough info so that someone else can try to replicate your issue.

Hey raino, been a while!
The two plugins I was having the problems were Addictive Drums 2 and Scamp filter plugin. I have ascertained that Scamp is VST2. Anything else is VST3.

I do have to rejoice that the problem is solved though. The customer support at Admiral Quality sent a link on how to make the incompatible, compatible. Everything works now! CB 14Pro now honors VST2 & 3.
