I thought this was normal. But then, I’m still with 14.
It is.
With that I always get an error message while loading.
Is this a known bug and is there a workaround?
You’ll need to tell us actual Cubase version (15..010? 15.0.20?), your OS and details of the error, screenshots are a big help.
I’ve never encountered any issues with templates, but, as I say, I’m still with Cubase 14.
Use the command “store as template”
Thank you Googly_Shakespeare, I should have shared this info upfront:
W11 - Cubase Pro 15.0.20 and attached some screenshots.
I create a template, store it under template (Vorlage in German) and Cubase creates a .cpr file in the “Project Template” folder. I couldn’t find a way to create a .tpl file.
After that if I want to open the template (which us a .cpr file) I get logically an error message saying, that Cubase couldn’t find the .tpl. (last screen shot).
Thank you for any guidance.
As I’ve said, I’m still with version 14, so I’m not much help.
However…
In over 30 years of using Cubase I’ve never heard of a .tpl file.
Also, does this happen with other created templates, or just this one? Because Cubase (even though it’s a German company!) sometimes cannot load files with special characters, such as the, I think it’s called, the umlaut.
That’s all I can think of.
Thank you anyway…yes it is with all templates…however, there is no big harm, and & found a workaround by ignoring the error message.
If you save it as template, it should not produce an error message.
Is that what you’re trying to do?
Yes, I tried to safe it as template or Content summary. In both cases it creates a .cpr file.
Do the templates contain audio (or video) files? This would cause such an error message (which I think is complaining about missing files (plural)).
Yes, it is supposed to. In Cubase, templates are saved as .cpr files.
.tpl files do not exist in Cubase.
no, just simple Cubase template paramteres!
Have you verified that the file is in that exact location?
The tricky bug on Windows when you had renamed a user.
I didn’t rename the user. Windows sometimes shows the acronym and sometimes the full name. the path is exactly the same and correct.
