Cubase Pro 16 Wishlist

When you delete a Part, all other Parts move, when you move a Part, all other Parts after it, also move. On every track.
But it depends on how it’s set up. I often use it in (Boris)Vegas, but as often, I don’t.
In Cubase, for me, Insert and Delete Silence work just as well.

This is VEGAS 21 but it should give you an idea of what’s possible.

Do your marker tracks and tempo tracks also move aside when you insert silence?

I would like voice- activated complex commands, like,

“Cubase, duplicate the ending chorus, but make it two dB louder, and mute the trumpets”.

If you mean Marker and Tempo events, then yes. Everything gets moved to the right Locator. If the Locators intersect any Parts, they get split.

So basically Ripple Editing is the same thing as regular editing only automated

More thought into Markers

Would love Marker tabs that coincide with the length of a section, the way Logic and PT do it. Also I love the Marker lanes/tracks that fit into a folder the way PT does it. Also, it’s so hard to type in a title for the markers - it would be nice to have a popover like Dorico does it

I’m currently still in 14Pro. so Idk if this was fixed in 15

Of course, would also love more Dorico integration, always

You know who can also duplicate the chorus, make it louder and mute the trumpets?

YOU CAN!

Steinberg: metadata written to files, or Imma come and get you. :backhand_index_pointing_left:

you see this face? ya buddy, that’s a grim face.

Thanks for the reminder!

My preference is to have mundane tasks done quicker and easier with voice commands, rather than a string of key presses and mouse clicks.

It’s cool if you don’t want that.

It’s also cool if I don’t want to live in a dystopian science fiction novel. Complete with social credit scores, terminator bots in the streets and software that I can’t login into because I won’t accept certain political things.

This is the future you’re supporting. There are a billion people without access to electricity, a few billion more that have never touched a computer before. You should take your AI wishlist to them and see what they say about it.

Because having to press Ctrl + B to duplicate something was never and never will be an actual issue to anyone ever. This isn’t even first world problems, this is not even problems. This is imaginary problems created by billionaires and their AI marketing scams, so they can lure investors into dumping their money into these projects. That’s all this AI bubble is: a pyramid scheme. And with the data theft, the biggest bank heist in human history.

You’re supporting the worst evil mankind has ever known. The real consequences to this just aren’t here yet.

That these ridiculous mistakes get addressed:

  • the groove agents hold and toggle don’t work with host playback
  • the arpache and arpache sx don’t finish the patterns if the key is not pressed anymore and they have no start on beat / measure like retrologue
  • Retrologue 2 also doesn’t finish the patterns if the key isn’t pressed anymore
  • step designer also has this problem
  • The media bay is extremely uncomfortable

What makes them all useless for live performance but is natural in other plugins since decades. But these all have also to be fixed in older cubase versions, what sadly is to be doubted. Paying again for these so obvious errors to be fixed only in a future version is more than ridiculous. The existence of these errors since all these years shines a extreme bad light on cubase.

Rather than suggesting new features, I’d hope for more features to trickle down to lower versions and not be perpetually locked to Pro. Things like Expression Maps, for example.
