Cubase Pro 8 crashes during initializing without notifications

Hi folks,
I mainly use Cubase 10.5 since last year, but I wanted to open Cubase 8 for some older projects. It won’t open. The splash screen shows up as normal, it scans some plugins, and after 10-20 seconds just closes/disappears, and that’s it. No error messages, nothing. The same happens with Cubase 5 which I still have installed. It loads, then vanishes. Cubase 10.5 opens fine, just checked. No issues with the usb dongle/license either.

I’d rename the User Settings Folder to permit C8 to initialize to factory settings.

%appdata%\Steinberg\Cubase 8_64\

I tried it now, but this time it didn’t help. However, I opened Cubase 8 again and again, and I noticed this silent crash happening when it initialized an older plugin called RealLPC which I then uninstalled, and then Cubase 8 started loading up as it should.

Bingo! :confetti_ball:
