Please information: On 19.9.2022, I bought a CUBASE PRO12 license, and installed it on 3.12.2024. When installing, I am not allowed to install CUBASE 14 for free. Am I entitled to a free installation of Cubase 14 given that I only installed the Cubase PRO12 license today? Thanks! Marko
It’s based on when you activated the license, not when you install the program.
The CUBASE PRO12 license was activated yesterday, December 3, 2024, and on the Steinberg website an instruction was published that licenses activated after October 8, 2024. have free access to Cubase 14.
Yep, but AFAIK, this was concerning only the already Cubase 13 licence owners…
You are entitled for a free update to C14 if the Download Access Code (DAC) had not been redeemed before Oct 9th 2024. When you bought C12 in 2022 you must have used that code which generated the Activation License. Although unused until recently, the first use of this Activation License is irelevant for the grace period eligibility. The only thing that matters in this case is the day you redeemed the DAC. As @Reco29 said, the activation date doesn’t matter. When did you enter the Download Access Code, the code you received by mail, in the Steinberg Download Assistant? That is the date when your license is redeemed, the activation is irrelevant.
Thank you… I did not purchase the license through the Steinberg platform and it was not delivered to me by email, but I physically purchased it from an authorized dealer in 2022, and I opened and installed it for the first time on December 3, 2024.
What do you mean by “physically”, there are no physical packages of Steinberg software anymore, as far as I know.
Hoću kazati, kupio sam za gotovinu u Music shopu paket u kojem se nalazi aktivacijski kod, ali taj paket nisam otvarao do jučer i nisam nikada prije komunicirao sa Steinberg putem interneta. Prijatelji su mi rekli da ću možda dobiti besplatan pristup za C13 i C14 ako aktiviram C-PRO12 nakon 8.10.2024.godine. Nitko od nas nije potpuno siguran niti tvrdimo da imam pravo na besplatan pristup do C13 i C14, samo pokušavam doznati imam li pravo na to ili možda postoji nekakav problem kod instalacije i aktivacije. C-PRO12 mi radi normalno. Hvala puno na savjetima.

I mean, I bought a package for cash at a Music shop that included an activation code, but I didn’t open the package until yesterday and I’ve never communicated with Steinberg online before. My friends told me that I might get free access to C13 and C14 if I activate C-PRO12 after 8/10/2024. None of us are completely sure, nor do we claim that I’m entitled to free access to C13 and C14, I’m just trying to find out if I’m entitled to it or if there might be some problem with the installation and activation. C-PRO12 works fine for me. Thank you very much for your advice.
Well, in that case I would advise you to open a support ticket describing your situation. I would give it a day or two and check for a voucher in your account - sometimes it takes a while to process.
