Cubase SE5 Drum Track Problems

Hi,

I have Cubse SE5 running on school pcs. Since we upgraded to Windows 7 Pro, we have had strange problems with the drum track, by default on channel 10. Channel 10 has changed to ‘flute’ and whatever instrument you change it to, you get a flute sound and no drums! Could anyone help please?

There is no Cubase **S**E5 - you mean LE 5?
What instrument are you triggering…?

Yes, but what sound generator is the keyboard triggering

Audiophile, M-Audio: external soundcard via USB connection.
If we switch to the internal Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth we get latency which the tech team at Counterpoint have been unable to resolve.
