Cubase still playing deleted section of a track

Hi there,

I’m having a problem with Cubase playing parts of a track that I’ve deleted. I’ve looked in other threads on the forum which suggested checking that you have no hidden tracks, I don’t.
So I’m inputting music using my keyboard and if I play something wrong or want to change something - tough because I can’t delete it! I have to delete the whole track, which seems to work fine, and play it all again.

Has anyone had this problem or have any suggestions as to how to deal with it please?

It’s just started happening today, I’ve not had a problem before, I’ve turned Cubase off and on again, no change…

I have no idea - ghosts in the machine?
But…
Plenty of people here may have an inkling if you tell them your OS (very important) and Cubase edition and version.
Possibly which audio interface as well.

Hi,
have a look at MIDI Record Modes and MIDI Cycle Record Modes. Maybe, that’s where the culprit is hiding

Thank you both for getting back to me.

I’m on a Mac Book Pro, M3, OS 14.8, Cubase 13 Pro, no separate audio interface, computer connected to digital piano with a USB cable.

I looked at the MIDI record mode, it was set to merge so I changed it to new parts and I’ll see if the behaviour continues next time I make a mistake!

Ha ha!! Well it wasn’t long before I made another mistake ! and changing the midi record mode from merge ( which it seems to have been on be default, I’ll know to check now ) to new parts has fixed it - THANK YOU SO MUCH!
