I am currently using Cubase 15 Elements, I have guitar and bass parts recorded for several songs and will be adding drum parts soon. The drummer wants me to add a click track to the MP3 mixdowns before I send them so he can work out parts. Any way I can do this without paying to upgrade to Artist? TIA.
You don’t need a Tempo Track unless there are changes in tempo.
Use a VST Instrument to create the click track. Alternatively an audio sample on an Audio Track.
What @mlib said. Pick trumpets as a VSTi and put a ping pong delay with odd delay times on it. Drummers love a good challenge
One song does have tempo changes, I’ve already done the tempo track for it and recorded all guitar and bass parts. What he wants is just a metronome click added to the MP3 mixdowns so he can come up with his parts. Everywhere I have read says I need to upgrade to Artist and that I need to add a Metronome/Tempo track into my project to achieve this. I will try to add a VST instrument as you have said, thanks.
In case you don’t already know -there’s an easy way to do it.
- Create one long MIDI-part on that VSTi track from start to finish (pencil tool)
- Open the key editor by double clicking on that part
- Set your quantize field to quarter notes
- Use the line tool to draw a long line of quarter note events into that part
Or you create a one bar pattern and duplicate it times x.
