Hi there.
I’ve just downloaded the Cubase for trial usage before purchase.
I found that no content is included in Cubase and tried to download some VST instruments.
But I can’t use them because of the Cubase is unlicensed. That’s true. But how I can try the product without content?
I’d like to test the Cubase for jazz performing purposes. What exactly plugins will you recommend for me?
Welcome to the forum.
What exactly is unlicensed, just Cubase or also the Instruments.
For the trial you must have created an account at Steinberg and that is used to activate your trial license. Together with the installation of the Download Assistant you installed a tool named Activation Manager.
You now need to start that Activation Manager, log in with your Steinberg Account and then activate the trial license. That will enable the test period for Cubase.
Thank you for the quick reply.

It looks like Instruments, for example The Grand Piano 3.
No licence for The Grand Piano 3 has been found in your account, so your software not be run.

Sorry, your screenshots are not visible. You are a new user and need some time before the system allows you to insert pictures here.
Really?
You can copy and paste the url above.
I’m usually not taking any urls any copy and paste them, this can contain all kinds of security issues.
However, I opened them this time. They show two instruments, “The Grand” and “Accoustic Guitar”, which require their own license. You can’t use these instruments until you have purchased them.
You can find alist of what belongs to Cubase Pro 12 here
Thank you, Juergen.
As far as I see the Cubase does not contain additional content like Instruments. Am I right?
And I need to purchase that content additionally. Perhaps, It’s OK for existing users but not for the new user like I am. I must to test the software using its instruments but I can’t do so.
Please, recommend me the free/trial plugin that can help me to test sounds especially for jazz player.
Cubase contains a lot of contents, you need to download it via the Download Assistant. See this snippet from the SDA, everything marked as Content Set belongs to Cubase. This content is available via Groove Agent, Halion or Padshop instruments in Cubase.
Beside the content you get together with Cubase you need to buy most of the instruments, especially if you are looking for a specific genre.
Thank you for the quick response again.
I see the list but it tells me nothing. I have no idea what does the Raw ambient mean or Blockbuster.
Anyway I see that the Cubase looks like a raw product and it does not fit my expectations.
I have posted the link to the Cubase page above, where you find details about each instrument and each sound content. You just need to look at the page.
I don’t know what you expect from Cubase, but there is a huge amount of content included, you just need to read the information available.
Thank you so much for the link and support.
I have just ended the reading. There are a lot of features but all useless for me as for beginner.
In order just to test the Cubase I need to do all these staffs. It’s enough for me, Jurgen. Thank you personally. I delete the app, downloader, key manager and other related things.
Sorry.
You are welcome… good luck with your further investigation of tools…
