Hello,

Since one can only ‘Try’ a Cubase version once in a lifetime, it is there to remind you if ever you want to try once more to try a trial.
Yes, right.. but since I bought the full versions after I tried… It’s a bit ridiculous
Trials and tribbles!
Steinberg are not the best software developers in the world.
And they prove it again…
I just noticed that there was already a topic with this (Steinberg Activation Manager clean up - #17 by Aleque)
I also created a topic about this a few days ago: Suggestion to Combine 3 Steinberg Apps into One
And I previously seen several other people complain about it. And I also have a few things to say about their Download Manager. I might make a detailed post about it later.
Is it really so hard to click the “Activated” button?
Meh. Steinberg developers also have managers who set priorities. If you ever were involved in software development, you’d knew that you can never implement all features you want and often also can never fix all bugs. In the end, it’s always a matter of priorities.
Would it be nice if this was fixed? Sure. But do you spend most of your time looking at Cubase or looking at the Activation Manager? I hope it’s the former. ![]()
What ??…
Num vere tam difficile est bullam “Activatum” premere?
yeah… maybe you missed the whole point…
Which kind of info will you miss when you select to show only the activated products in the Activation Manager?
Yeah sure, you can do it, each time… Anyway, the topic was about is it possible to remove or delete something and the answer is definitely no… So, that’s just the way it is
I had no idea!
Just to clarify: If I activate a trial version of Cubase 15 … will I be prevented later from activating a trial version of Cubase 16?
No, they are not that nuts
No, you get a new trial activation for the next major release, but you can just trial each one once. This is not much different than other authorization systems (like iLok e.g., and iirc also the old ELicenser), where the used trial licenses also stayed visible in the respective manager app…
Thanks for that info, @fese and @Vendimion !
It’s true that it’s annoying. It’s simple: in the left-hand column, I click on the ‘activated’ tab and the trial versions disappear. All I have left is Pro15 with an expiry date that will disappear when I purchase it next month.
