Cubase update sale before eLicencer shutdown?

Hello everyone,

as a Cubase 11 user who has due to various circumstances missed both Cubase update sales so far, I’ve just received the long-feared email about shutting down the eLicencer service. I suspected that sooner or later I would be cornered and faced with having to do a last-minute update to a new Cubase version if I wanted continued support and to get rid of the physical dongle. Well, the time has arrived and now I have to pay 199 € to update to Cubase 13.

I won’t complain about being “forced” to update because the new versions do have a few features I want and I really did plan to update sooner or later - I’m just sad that missing my chance to get Cubase 12 (as the first version on a new licencing system) for under 99€ a couple of years ago has in fact lead to this point. And currently I’m in a position where I’d rather be saving money.

So, is there any information if and when there will be a discounted Cubase update sale (summer or winter)? I feel that we deserve it in these circumstances.

Thanks

I indeed think that a gesture should come from Steinberg for customers like you, who are still depending on the soft/USB eLicencing scheme, this, before next 31st december. That would ease the transition, at least on its financial side.

This said, maybe it is already planned and we don’t know it, yet…

Just reminding everyone that the 50% off update sale is ongoing, until 25rd of September if I’m not mistaken. Hurry up! :grinning:
