Considering there has been complaints on how Cubase doesn’t seem to know how to handle high core count/threads processors, that will have to happen anyways because CPU development will not stop just because Steinberg decided their audio engine only works correctly if you have 4 cores/threads.
Is Steinberg planning to let Win 11 manage the core handling in future updates of Cubase/Nuendo?
It is well-known that Cubase doesn’t do this brilliantly today, and that much can be learned from Reaper, which leaves the core handling to Intel’s Thread Director and the Windows scheduling, instead of - like Cubase - trying to achieve this on its own.
To me, this is the one and really only area where I see room for major improvement in Cubase. It would be super useful if Steinberg could let the u…

I bought a nice Mac Studio M3 ultra…
Very expensive here in the UK… My reasoning was that my M1 max-10 core machine threaded really well and could in some instances out perform my 16/32 core 9950x. So I presumed that the issues were to do with windows/Cubase … so the option was to buy a Mac Studio it seemed…
well… After setting it all up … I fired up my Mix bus test…
Exactly the same issue on Mac OS with a high core count CPU…[Facepalm smiley]… tha’s an expensive experiment for me here…
