Cubase VST 5 and Windows 7

I’m doing a fresh install of Windows 7 64-bit and I want to use Cubase VST 5. I’ve read the knowledge base article on transferring the dongle licence to a USB e-licenser but I just want to check a couple of things:

  1. If my Windows 7 PC has a printer port, is the licence transfer necessary?

  2. Will all my 32-bit VST instruments still install and work OK?

Many thanks.

  1. As you might have read the last License Control Center version that is supporting printer port dongles is 5.0.2.4. I doubt that it will run on Windows 7 but if it does there should be no need to use an USB-eLicenser.
  2. Only someone with clairvoyant powers can tell you that. But 32-bit-wise there shouldn’t be a problem.

Great, thanks for the prompt reply Georg.
