Hey everyone, hopefully you can help me out. I use Cubase 12 artist and Windows 11. I just downloaded the Splice plugin to see if I wanted to use it, but since then, Cubase 12 stops opening while trying to scan for VST plugins, and keeps on hanging there. I’ve deleted everything from Splice I could find, and opening in Safe mode without 3rd party plugins works, but when I try to scan using the VST manager to figure out the problem, Cubase stops working in safe mode as well. Could you please help me out? I’m not sure what else I can do.
How did you do that?
Are you talking about the Studio->VST Plug-in Manager? Do you still see it listed in there?
I deleted Splice by deleting the download wizard, the app, and checking if I could find other traces on my laptop, but it said it couldn’t find anything.
I’m talking about the studio → vst manager yes.
I still see it listed, but when I clicked on analyzing, it seems to freeze there
Hi @gregout1991 and welcome to the forum!
In order to stop Splice from popping up in Cubase, please delete Splice’s VST3 file. It has the suffix *VST3. If you’ve also installed Splice VST2 files (sufixx *dll) and VST2 is enabled in your Plugin Manager, please delete them, too.

Afterwards, Splice shouldn’t be a problem anymore.

I use the Soft Piano, which is known as a Felt Piano, in all of my compositions because it does not dominate even when used for the main melody.
It will only work with the latest versions of Cubase or Nuendo, so if you can upgrade your DAW, you can take advantage of its’ beautiful sound since it has been optimised from before when it was available from Spitfire Labs.
