I picked up an unopened boxed copy of the full Cubase 7. I was told I could upgrade for free to Cubase Pro 8.5 (grace period update) on the site. Since Cubase 9 may be coming out soon, do you think I should hold off activating it until Cubase 9 comes out? Am wondering if I’d be able to get a free upgrade to C9, or if I should just upgrade to 8.5 now.
Although not officially announced, 9 is anticipated in a couple of weeks and some retailers apparently already mentioned free Grace period updates to C9 with any C8.5 purchases.
So you could probably activate now and be fine. In recent previous years the release has been first week in December and Grace period covers back to Mid October.
