Cubase's Direct Offline Processing (DOP)

Will this feature ever be reliable? It always acts up and things disappear. It needs to be as flexible as a channel strip and reliable. It’s also difficult to use in macros.

Hi,

Do you have any specific issue, please?

Yes. It geeks out constantly. It needs to just be stable and stop resetting itself.

Is it this: DOP processes multiplied and never end - Nuendo - Steinberg Forums

Please visit that link and read the first post to see if it’s roughly the same, then go to toward the end and quote-reply the SB official’s comment with a question about when we can expect to see an update. They’ve been aware of this for a long time and haven’t fixed it, which is BS.

This thing hasn’t worked correctly for me the entire time it has been available. It should be an amazing batch processor that JUST WORKS the way it is intended. There needs to be a better preset system. The plugins are not easily editable, they disappear and also it is does not retain settings of the plugins I add.

For example something as simple as:

reverse
Add plugin with mix knob
it defaults back to whatever it was initially.

Also a plugin like Audiomodern’s Gatelab switched to a mono pattern it still prints stereo and ignores the setting change.

So many issues.

That seems to be an issue that the majority of us doesn’t seem to have. In other words: DOP seems to work significantly worse than for most, maybe even all other people.

Mattias has mentioned one known issue with DOP and I think there was a another one. But your description matches none of them. Maybe that is why nobody really knows what you are talking about in your post.
