Following your notification I contacted the app store to download cubasis 2
But the download di not work, I have 1.99
When I download, will cubasis 2 automatically overrite version 1.99 and will all my saved files be intact

I have had no Problem. Alle files Intakt an readable.

Updates will overwrite existing versions by keeping existing data such as projects and or files.
Nevertheless we strongly suggest to make backups on a regular basis!
Cubasis 2 offers many options to do so, such as iTunes File Sharing, WiFi Server, Dropbox, external hardware drives and/or wireless drives etc. Please find all of them explained in detail in the MediaBay section of the in-app help.
