I was excited to see that the new update made midi clock out work but with my setup is unusably jittery. I am using it with a Noise engineering Univer Inter and it is baad. The Univer Inter works fine with other clock sending apps i have. thoughts?
Hello all,
I too, am having what I suspect are midi clock problems.
My set up:
iPad Pro M4 running iPadOS 18.3
Output to Behringer UMC 1820
MIDI from UMC 1820 to Arturia Beatstep Pro (BSP)
BSP MIDI out to external synths
I have both Cubasis 2.8.6, (Settings: hardware latency=ultra low, midi latency=0ms)
…as well as Cubasis 3.7.1 installed. (Settings: latency=5.3 ms, total 18.6ms, multi-core proc. enabled, ex. guard buffer=low, audio recording offset comp.=15ms, midi latency=0ms)
In each version project settings are: 44.1khz, 24 bit.
I can synchronize the BSP to the external clock from Cubasis 2.8.6 and the resulting audio is recorded ~3-5ms behind the beat. Great!
However, when I record the same setup, same tempo, with Cubasis 3.7.1 the resulting audio is recorded ~40-45ms behind the beat. Not so good.
Any suggestions to troubleshoot would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Andy
PS. MIDI events recorded from BSP into Cubasis 3.7.1 are ~36-38 ms behind the beat. MIDI events recorded from BSP into Cubasis 2.8.6 are exactly on the beat.
Thank you Andy for your detailed reply. I’m some what of a noob when it comes to midi from IOS devices so I was a having hard time technically describing my issues. All i can say for sure is that IOS apps costing far less are outputting better clocks for my use… My use being a high end eurorack usb midi to cv device.
Hi andersleagjeld,
I have been having terrible jittery problems for a while now, but I found the problem and in my case my solution worked, I thought I would just mention what was causing my problem just in case it could be affecting your setup, look in the Cubasis SETTINGS/MIDI and check if MACKIE CONTROL is off, otherwise this will cause the jitters like it has been doing with my setup.
