Cubasis 3.7.1 Issue: digital distorsion on audio recoding

Hi, Cubasis 3.7.1 is working perfectly fine on my iPad, except for one major issue with audio recoding: I use the audio interface M-Audio M-track Solo and when I record microphone or guitar, the sound is perfect when I hear it direct at the output of the audio interface but when I hear it from Cubasis, before or after recording, there is a systematic digital intermittent distorsion, which is really bad. I tested separately my audio interface with another DAW (no problem), my cables, I also varied all the audio parameters in cubasis 3, but the problem is still here. it really seems to come from Cubasis 3. Please help me (and please don’t send me basis tutorials of audio recording, because it is beyond a basic issue). Thanks

Hi @guillaumerobinrd

Thanks for your message and a warm welcome to the Cubasis forum!

Cubasis for iOS/iPadOS is fully compatible with class compliant audio devices, offering up to 64 inputs/outputs (depending on the capacities of the audio device in use).

We’re not equipped with M-Audio’s M-Track Solo device ourselves, but I gave the website a short check where the device seems to be listed for “Mac and PC”.

I suggest to check back with our friends at M-Audio to find out, if the device has been officially checked and approved to be used with iOS/iPadOS devices. If required, we’re at hand to provide them with a Cubasis promo code for testing purposes.

Below I’ve listed a few more additional things to check, which hopefully help to resolve the problem instantly.

Please keep me updated!

Best,
Lars

Troubleshooting Audio Issues with iPads

If you experience audio interference or disruptions while using your iPad with audio apps, consider the following:

  • Siri and Audio Buffer Issues: Siri can sometimes modify and lock the audio buffer size, which may affect audio performance. If this happens, a full reboot of your iPad is required to restore normal functionality.
  • Magnetic Smart Covers: Some smart covers with magnets can interfere with audio performance. Try removing the cover if you notice issues.
  • Cellular Interference: If your iPad has a cellular chip, turning off cellular data may help, as some audio interfaces are sensitive to RF interference. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth generally do not cause issues.
  • Switching Audio Devices: Changing audio interfaces while apps are running can sometimes confuse the system. To avoid problems, close all apps before connecting or switching audio devices.

If you experience persistent issues, restarting your iPad and ensuring all apps are closed before switching devices can also be of help.
