I am having a problem with Cubasis on Sndroid. My MIDI keyboard stops working and The MIDI connection disappears.
The same problem occurs on two different Samsung Android devices, using the same version of Cubasis 3.8.5.
I have already tested The MIDI keyboard with both devices, but problem remains.
I have another Korg microKEY keyboard with 35 keys. This keyboard works correctly with Cubase on the same Samsung device.
The problem occurs only with my other Korg microKEY keyboard.
I also tested the problematic keyboard with Cubase on my Samsung smartphone, using the same version of Cubase, and the same problem occurred there.
Therefore, it seems that the problem is related specifically to this particular MIDI keyboard, rather than to the Samsung tablet, smartphone, or Cubase installation in general.
Could you please help me determine whether this is a Cubasis software issue or a Midi/Android compatibility problem?

Please clarify: does your external Korg microKEY keyboard work with Cubasis on your Android device, while another Korg microKEYkeyboard does not?
If so, I’d assume the issue appears to be related to one of the keyboard devices rather than Cubasis. Is that correct? I suggest to get in touch with our friends at Korg regarding the issue.

Anoter midi keyboard, Korg microkey 35 work wih Cubasis. But Korg microkey 61 dont work.
This could be a power-related issue?
Some midi-keyboards need more power than others.
One idea would be to try using a powered USB hub between the keyboard and the device?
(Or a USB-Dongle with a USB ports and a USB-PD port to keep the main device and other connected devices powered).

Thank you for your suggestion to try an externally powered USB hub, because the problem might be related to insufficient power.
I tested this with a powered USB hub. The hub is powered by a Samsung 45W USB-C PD charger, and the Korg microKEY 61 is connected to the hub. Nothing else is connected to the hub.
The result is exactly the same.
The microKEY 61 works normally for an unlimited amount of time before recording. I can play the keyboard and Cubasis receives MIDI correctly.
However, as soon as I press the Record button, the microKEY 61 immediately disconnects: its LED goes out.
Initially I had a four-beat count-in. I tested stopping the recording after the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th beat. The keyboard remained connected. It disconnected exactly on the 5th beat, when actual recording started.
I then completely disabled Count In. With Count In disabled, the result is even clearer: the microKEY 61 disconnects immediately when I press Record.
I also tested recording an audio track, and the keyboard disconnects when recording starts there as well.
There is another important comparison: I have a second Korg microKEY keyboard with 37 keys. It works normally with the same Android tablet, the same Cubasis installation and the same setup. It does NOT disconnect when I press Record.
Therefore, it seems that the problem is not simply insufficient USB power from the tablet.
The important observations are:
Korg microKEY 61 works normally before recording.
It works normally through an externally powered USB hub.
The problem occurs exactly when Cubasis enters recording mode.
Disabling Count In does not change the problem.
The microKEY 61 disconnects immediately when Record is pressed.
A second Korg microKEY (37 keys) works normally in the same setup.
The USB hub has external power, so the keyboard is not relying solely on the tablet’s USB power.
Could this be a compatibility or USB/MIDI initialization problem between Cubasis on Android and the Korg microKEY 61 that occurs specifically when Cubasis switches to recording mode?
Please let me know if there are any additional tests or settings I should check.

Solved: Korg microKEY 61 disconnects when recording with MIDI Clock enabled

I have found the cause of the MIDI problem with my Korg microKEY 61 in Cubasis 3.
My setup:
Samsung Galaxy Tab S10
Android 16
One UI 8.5
Cubasis 3
Korg microKEY 61
The problem occurred when I pressed the Record button. The MIDI connection was lost and, in some cases, the keyboard even lost USB power and all LEDs went off.
I have now discovered that the problem occurs when “Send MIDI Clock” is enabled in the Cubasis MIDI Setup.
When I disable “Send MIDI Clock”, everything works normally. The Korg microKEY 61 remains connected and continues sending MIDI messages while recording.
My Korg microKEY 37 works normally even with “Send MIDI Clock” enabled.
The same microKEY 61 also works normally with Cubase and other DAWs on my computers.
Therefore, the problem seems to be related to the interaction between Cubasis, MIDI Clock, and my Galaxy Tab S10/Android 16/One UI 8.5.
At least I now have a workaround: I can use the microKEY 61 normally with “Send MIDI Clock” disabled.
I hope this information can help you reproduce and investigate the issue.
