The drum samples in the classic machines vst add on seem to be playing in reverse.
This affects the kick and snare samples of all presets. If I tap them rapidly it plays the normal sample after a few taps but if I draw a pattern in the keyboard section they are in reverse and velocity settings do not help.
Hi @V4L
Thanks for your message and welcome to the Cubasis forum.
Please provide us with a short clip that shows the step leading to the problem, and the issue itself.
Thanks
Lars
Unfortunately I am unable to do so because the problem seems to have gone away on its own and I cannot replicate it for the video.
I am still unsure what caused it.
I am using the app on a Samsung A33 so it might just be a memory issue after all.
Unlikely it would be due to memory shortage as playing samples backwards is just as much memory usage as playing them forwards. I havent used the classic drummachines in a while and normally i use them to make other custom drum samples thicker and crispier but i was wondering if there was a function or automation to play the classic drummachine samples backwards (i remember running into something like that vaguely but maybe that was in the mini sampler)⦠thats the only thing i could think of being the cause. I dont know, if it is⦠i will find it eventually
I actually tried tweaking all the available automation channels while the bug was still there and it didnāt change anything.
Hmm my logic is that its not super uncommom to use drums reversed and its not like its never been used before so im thinking if i want to use reversed drums, how can i create that without resampling them and reversing them. If its possible without resampling them and simply flipping the sample then probably your ābugā has to do with that⦠i didnt try much yet, i tried earlier fiddling around with the on screen keyboard (modulation wheel etc) but didnt find anything usefull (yet).
Anyways, might it occur again⦠then check the dsp meter while playing the drums⦠if its not absurdly high then its most likely not memory/cpu related. You have 6 gigs of ram and a 2.2 ghz cpu if im not mistaken. If you are not using a mass amount of instruments/effects you should have no problems. Tho there is 1 echo/delay (i forgot which one exactly) that is dps heavy.
I found that on my tab s7 the multicore processing on max (settings>audio) gives the smoothest experience and on heavier projects upping the latency gives more breathing space for my device.
Hi @V4L
Without seeing the issue or being able to reproduce it, there is not much we canāt do unfortunately.
Just to make sure you are aware about it: Next to the regular Classic Machines drum kits, the instrument includes FX versions of all kits.
Is it possible that youāve used one of those variations kits, that includes lots of effects intentionally?
Best,
Lars
Hmmā¦
I canāt reproduce this but I would be happy if there was a way to actually reverse and tune (other than the +/- 2 semitones using pitch-bend) the samples in the Classic Machines and maybe even get an āemptyā Machine that could be populated with user samplesā¦
Cheers!
An empty machine would be awesome!!!
@LSlowak Mini sampler is a JOKE and you know itā¦
Thatās a bit harsh Samuel
But yh the mini sampler is a bit too basic and its ok-ish if you want to build a keyboards instrument and you have multiple samples of the same instrument but it has no real instrument UI.
For building a drum machine its a bit tedious.
But i get it⦠Steinberg wants to be able to sell additional instruments and the fact they dont sell their additional instruments in the minisampler format kinda proves it. At the end of the day its business.
The whole fact that we got the Halion selection (which is great) but you guys didnt build the Halion Sampler for Cubasis is evident in itself. Also no option to import other Halion selections from itās big brother.
Dont get me wrong, im not complaining, im just calling as i see it.
Ok so I have an update. It happened again and the only way it happens is if Iām listening to my project through a Bluetooth device like a headset or a speaker. Unfortunate for the guys who though it was a secret feature.
I also niticed it happens with other plugins like the Micrologue so itās not a Classic machines problem its just a general sound bug.
Haha ok.
I can tell from experience that using BT headset on samsung/android is not favourable⦠there are more quirks (depending on which BT device/brand/model you use).
For instance i have a TurtleBeach headset and when i connect it, the song plays at a lower bpm (while the bpm counter in cubasis stays the same) and at the same time it plays everything at a lower pitch. Its like when you slow a record down⦠and its not just in the playback, it persists when you mix down the song to a wav. I have 2 wavās⦠1 with the headset connected and 1 without and you can hear it so obvious.lol.
iāll see if i can make a vid of it when i got some time later tonight.
But I even doubt that they are aware of this or if they care about.
Cheers
Tim
Itās not hard to do.
Hi @V4L
Once youāve connected your Android device to your BT device, please check if the playback problem can be resolved by choosing the āOutput Deviceā (located under āSetup/Bluetooth / AirPlayā) or choosing the āSample Rateā (located under āSetup/Project/Sample Rateā).
Hope that helps!
Best wishes,
Lars
Nope.
