Hi, when I try to mixdown a particular song in Cubasis 3, all the audio files start at the wrong time and are jumbled. I’ve tried changing the latency and extra guard buffer but it makes no difference. Anyone had this issue or have any ideas how to fix it? Thanks everyone.
Welcome to the forum! I took the liberty of moving your post to the Cubasis category rather than the Cubase category so that the right people would see it ![]()
Happy New Year!
Thanks, that’s much appreciated. I hadn’t noticed they were different categories!
Hi @tjcnewman
Happy New Year 2026 and welcome to the forum!
Could you share a short clip showing all the steps that lead to the issue?
Additionally, if the problem persists, it would be very helpful for us to have a project that allows our engineering team to reproduce the issue. Please find my contact details in the private message if you agree to share it with us.
Thanks,
Lars
I’m having the same issue. I hope they fix it.
This isn’t specifically meant for this thread but it would be really, I mean REALLY helpful if those who are reporting issues would mention which device/model and operating system version and eventual external accessories (Audio-Interfaces, Controllers etc.) that are connected and being used as it would make it easier to eventually replicate the issue…
Without this basic information troubleshooting is next to pointless…
Hi @tjcnewman
Please note that we are preparing Cubasis 3.8.2, which aims to resolve further user-reported issues.
To have your issue checked, please provide the exact steps that lead to the problem (a short clip showing the steps would be great).
I gave the issue a quick check (see clip below) using Cubasis 3.8.1 with iPadOS 16.1, including iWavestation, Synthmaster 2, Digital D1, Model D AUv3 plug-ins, and more, which all worked as expected.
Without further details, we’re unable to reproduce or resolve the problem unfortunately.
Best,
Lars
Hey Lars - FYI, I just moved the OP from the (mis-tagged) “Cubase” category to “Cubasis.” I’m not involved otherwise ![]()

Hi, sorry for the delay in replying. It seems to happen to audio that has been stretched. It used to be fine, but now any audio that is stretched just starts in randown places. There’s no plugins. I’m using Cubasis 3 v3.8.1 on a M2 IPad Pro. I’ve tried it on several different projects and the same thing happens with every project. I work a lot with Cubasis and I cant get anything done. Thanks for trying to help, Lars.
BTW do you know when 3.8.2 is coming out? Really hoping that might solve my problem.
Best, Tim
Did you already try using the ‘Real-time Mixdown and Freeze’ option under Mixdown / Freeze down settings?
This should work if the playback already works as expected.
Yes, I tried the realtime mixdown setting. It didn’t make any difference.
Thanks for the suggestion though.
And yes, the playback works normally.
How much are you stretching the audio-events and in what mode ‘Pro, Efficient or Mobile’?
How many tracks are stretched or pitch-shifted?
I’m trying to re-create the issue but so far I’ve not been able to regardless of how much or little I stretch the audio events?!
If you can, try to make a screen-recording of it.
For Me the Real-time options has so far solved 99.9% of the render/freeze issues with various plug-ins when I bump into them. (ie. if playback works as expected the render is more or less identical).
Ive tried stretching in pro and mobile.
Quite a lot of the tracks are stretched. Lots of snippets of audio stretched over 10 out of 30 tracks approx. These are songs that were recorded ages ago and have mixed down fine, it’s just started since the latest update.
Sorry, I dont know how to make a real time screen recording. historically, I have had success with real time recording when start points of audio have glitched.
I assume its not just me as someone’s else posted on this thread that they have the same trouble.
Hi @tjcnewman,
Please share a project with us, which allows us to reproduce the mixdown issues you’re experiencing.
Please upload the project to Dropbox (or a similar service) and send me the download link via PM. You’ll find my email contact in the PM I sent you earlier.
Best,
Lars
Thanks Lars, I’ll upload tomorrow. I’m in a hotel tonight with slow WiFi.
Sorry but I dont know where to find your email, or what the acronym PM is. Sorry for being a dinosaur!
Best, Tim
