Cubasis 3 on phone and Quad Cortex connection problem

Hi,

I have a problem using my Quad Cortex as a I/O soundcard mini directly connected to my Android phone (Honor V5) and Cubasis 3 :

i use the Cubasis 3 Android app and it directly recognize the QC as input 1 and output 1 (no signe of 1/2 channels). The QC shows USB output level moving on out 1/2 and out 3/4 when it’s connected to the phone. The problem i can’t record any signal and the master vu meter on the Cubasis app doesn’t show any signal entry, same in the other way there is no playback going from the phone app to the QC even it’s allowed in the settings.

I already checked the phone USB settings and they allows data transfer in the developer menu and Cubasis app has no restrictions in the mic use.

Connecting the QC to the phone don’t shows a message with confirmation to allows usb sound but as i use other devices as a external camera it shows always a confirmation demand on the phone.

Could you help me if it’s something that happens to other Android users?

Hi @e.t.jacquin,

Thanks for reaching out, and sorry for my late reply.

Please note that Cubasis for Android currently supports stereo input and output only. Multi-channel audio interfaces are therefore limited to stereo I/O when used with Cubasis on Android.

Regarding the issue itself, we recommend checking our Android hardware compatibility article, which includes troubleshooting steps and specifically suggests testing with the Google Oboe Checker app.

This can help verify whether your device and audio interface are working correctly with Android’s low-latency audio system.

You can find the article here:

Android Hardware Compatibility & Troubleshooting https://helpcenter.steinberg.de/hc/en-us/articles/360016692299

If the Oboe Checker reports any issues, or if other audio apps behave similarly with the Quad Cortex, the problem may be related to the Android device’s USB audio implementation rather than Cubasis itself.

Best,
Lars
