Cubasis 3 Unofficial Marker Track Setup Guide

For some reason I can’t rename MIDI clips from the piano roll like it’s supposed to work in the current versions, or my screen has some issue in the corners where the track number box is. This guide is for those who have the same problem on Android. Everyone else can do it the official way for 3.8.6, double tap to enter the MIDI clip (piano roll), top left tap the track number box and enter the name.

Rule: Every MIDI clip inherits its track name.

Use the track name field to name the MIDI clips before drawing them (repeat as needed). Label the marker track as “Marker Track”.

Quick workflow:
Create several MIDI tracks and rename them as desired, draw a clip on each, drag them onto the Marker Track. Delete the empty tracks.
“The same logic applies to colors.”

Tested on Cubasis 3.8.6 (Android).

Bonus: Marker Designs

Thanks, good tip.

If only tracks could be pinned at the top; it would not only benefit a setup such as this, but any situation, recording or editing, were you need a reference track visible at all times.

I usually make a marker track by creating a MIDI track 8 bars long, using the centre grab handle to create as many 8 bar segments as required, these segments can be reduced or enlarged to suit, double tap on each segment and tap on the segment name (top left) and rename it eg INTRO, VERSE, CHORUS etc.
I do this for all segments and then colour them so all verses are in a group of Green, all choruses in a group of Orange, bridge in Orange etc, this way I can see at a glance where I am in the song.
Just my idea that works for me, see screenshot below:
